The Christian Church
One of the oldest institutions on the face of the earth is the Christian church founded some 2000 years ago by Jesus of Nazareth. It has been battered and torn, mispresented, and abused – but it has been true to its mission to take the gospel into all the world. Today, there are over 2 billion Christians scattered among some 200 nations of the world, and the numbers along with the world population keep on growing. What constitutes a real Christian? Is it belonging to a specific church? Is it the act of being baptized? Is it regular church attendance? Is church membership and attendance essential to having eternal life? This section will answer many of the questions you might have about the Christian church.
